• All Financial Accountant functions,
• The Accounting Officer functions,
• Preparation of annual financial statements,
• Signing off annual financial statements of close corporations,
• Working closely with the Chartered Certified Accountant and Registered Auditor,
• Thorough knowledge of corporate strategy, management accounting control systems, financial reporting and regulatory frameworks (particularly IFRS), and accounting theory and practice.

The accredited ICB Bookkeeping and Accounting Courses are a great option for students who would like to study an accredited course without a matric certificate. The entry requirement for Bookkeeping: ICB National Certificate, the first course in the series is that you need to have grade 10. You will then move on to the Bookkeeping: ICB FET Certificate course,  Certified Financial Accounting: ICB National Diploma course and Technical Financial Accounting: ICB National Diploma course.

Successful completion of the ICB National Diploma: Technical Financial
Accounting OR Be a qualified Certified Technical Financial Accountant

• Management Accounting Control Systems
• Financial Reporting and Regulatory Frameworks
• Accounting Theory and Practice

AND

The subjects from the FET Certificate Bookkeeping (Certified Senior Bookkeeper):

• Financial Statements
• Cost and Management Accounting

AND

The subjects from the National Diploma: Technical Financial Accounting:

• Income Tax Returns
• Business Law and Accounting Control

AND

The subjects from this qualification, the National Diploma: Certified Financial Accounting:

• Corporate Strategy
• Management Accounting Control Systems
• Financial Reporting and Regulatory Frameworks
• Accounting Theory and Practice (Please note that there is a Dissertation required for this subject.)

Assessment and Award

Assessment is based on the submission of a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) which will comprise of 3 formative activities, 2 formative evaluations and one summative assessment. PoE assessment comprises formative / interim assessment of activities (assignments) and evaluations (tests) that count 30% towards the total mark. A Summative Assessment (final exam) contributes to the remaining 70% of your marks. The PoE is basically a file containing all the evidence necessary for a learner to be declared competent against the relevant outcomes.
