What is Junior Bookkeeper – Business Literacy

Business Literacy is a useful course that will give you right skills to communicate effectively in a business environment.

Entrance Requirements

You should be competent in:

• Grade 10 level Communication
• Grade 10 level Mathematical Literacy
• You should have a good understanding of bookkeeping

Programme Duration

Recommended 7 – 9 months of study

Programme Outcomes

In order to complete the Junior Bookkeeper – Business Literacy course, students will have to complete the following subjects:

Learning Module 1: Business Literacy – The key principles of effective business communication
Learning Module 2: Business Literacy – Spoken communication
Learning Module 3: Business Literacy – Written communication
Learning Module 4: Business Literacy – Work readiness
Learning Module 5: Working with numbers: and introduction
Learning Module 6: Working with fractions and decimal numbers
Learning Module 7: Percentages, ratios, proportions and equations
Learning Module 8: Using interest rates in business
Learning Module 9: Measure, analyse and communicate workplace data
Learning Module 10: Business communication – Putting it all together
Learning Module 11: Business numeracy – Putting it all together

Assessment and Award

For this particular course, you will have to successfully complete and submit assignments prescribed by The Learning Group. Once you have successfully completed the necessary assignments prescribed by The Learning Group, you will be awarded with a Short Course Certificate from The Learning Group.

Also, once you have successfully completed the necessary assignments prescribed by The Learning Group you will have to successfully pass exams with the ICB.

In order to write exams with the ICB you will have to: 

• Apply to the ICB and register with them to write their exams
• Submit a Portfolio of Evidence to the ICB on the day of your exams

The Learning Group will help you every step of the way with this.

Upon successful completion of your exams, the ICB will certify you with a Statement of Competence showing the respective Unit Standards which you have completed and FASSET will award you with a Unit Standard Certificate for any Unit Standards that you successfully complete.
